Ozone Systems

Ozone is another highly recommended, effective way to purify spa water. Ozone works by oxidizing and sanitizing the water. It changes O2, or oxygen, into O3 or ozone gas which when used reverts back to O2. Ozone may also be combined with CLEARRAY™ Water Purification System for a secondary back up for the CLEARRAY system.

With the use of ozone water purification systems, you get clean water using fewer chemicals, like chlorine and bromine because ozone is an oxidizer. Since the ozone molecule has a short life, you will still need to have additional sanitizers in the water as ozone cannot be easily detected in water.

If you or someone in your family experiences eye redness after using the spa, you may be sensitive to chemical additives. In that case, an ozone water purification system is an excellent choice because it minimizes their usage.

Note: ozone does not make your spa chemical-free. Nothing does that! Your ozone water purification system still needs chlorine (which has been proven effective in pools and spas for years, and is available in granular form) or bromine, a popular spa sanitizer. The main point to keep in mind is that ozone water purification systems clean your spa with less chemical use.
